Sreejesh, who made his debut in the senior Indian team through the 2006 South Asian Games in Colombo, could not find a permanent place in the team till 2011 due to the presence of senior goalkeepers like Adrian D’Souza and Bharat Chhetri. He became an integral part of the team from 2011 onwards and became a star by saving two penalty strokes against Pakistan in the 2014 Asian Games final. After this he did not look back and he excelled in all the tournaments like Olympics, World Cup, Champions Trophy, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Pro League etc. Khel Ratna, Padmashree, World’s Best Athlete, FIH Best Player, 336 international matches themselves testify to his achievements.
