The history of this ancient temple of Lord Shiva is 5000 years old. A smoke keeps burning all the time inside the temple. It is said that the flame burning inside the temple never gets extinguished, it has always been burning. This Shiva temple has also been described in the Puranas. This temple is described in the Puranas as Hiranyagarbha Jyotirlinga, which is said to be of Tretayuga even before the birth of Shri Ram.
Mangal Mahadev Birla Kanan Temple
This ancient temple of Lord Shiva is situated on Shivaji Marg in Delhi. Spread over 200 acres of land, this temple was established in 1994 on Shivratri, the special festival of Lord Shiva. A 100 feet high giant statue of Lord Shiva is installed in this temple of Lord Shiva. The height of the statue is so much that it can be seen even from a distance. Along with Lord Shiva, the idols of Mother Parvati, Kartikeya, Nandi, Sita-Shri Ram, Radha Krishna and Lord Ganesha are also installed in this temple. Ancient Gauri Shankar Temple
This temple of Lord Shiva is located in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. It is said that the Shivalinga located inside this temple is 800 years old. This temple was built by a Maratha soldier who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. A folk story regarding the temple is also quite popular. It is said that a Maratha soldier was once injured in a battle. Then he prayed to Lord Shiva that if his life was saved then he would get the Shiva temple built. To fulfill his promise, he had built this Shiva temple.
Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple
This ancient temple of Lord Shiva is located in Sector 4 of Vaishali area of Ghaziabad district of Delhi NCR. This temple can be seen from the stairs of Vaishali metro station itself. Gulmohar Shivalaya located nearby is also quite famous. Every year during the month of Sawan, this temple is crowded with devotees.
