The coach who contributed significantly to Indian players winning medals in the Paris Olympics 2024, had to face a major problem within a few hours of returning to India. Is. When Samaresh Jung returned from Paris, he got this information just a few hours later and was left speechless.
Samaresh Jung, nicknamed ‘Goldfinger’ after winning seven gold, five silver and two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games 2006 and 2010, said he needed at least two months to pack his bags and leave. Troubled by the problem, Samaresh Jung told PTI, “This was a property on which we had been living for the last 75 years. The land and structure were given on lease to Mr Singh in 1978 and we have been paying him rent since then.”
He further said, “L&DO (Land and Development Office) has sent us a notice only yesterday. In fact, I came to know about it only an hour after reaching home from Paris.” Shooters have won two of India’s three medals, with Manu Bhaker winning a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol in the individual event and he along with Sarabjot Singh also winning a bronze medal in the mixed team event.
Jung’s house is in Civil Lines area and he said 200 families have been ordered to vacate their houses within two days. Delhi High Court will hear this case on Monday. “I am not above the law and I will vacate the house if the law says so, but giving two days’ notice is no way,” Jung said. At least give us a few months to vacate the house.”
He asked, “Is it an emergency or a war situation that we have to vacate the house in a day?” The 54-year-old former shooter said he did not have another house in Delhi. “Now I have no place to go,” he said. I have a huge library of over 1000 books and my brother has gone house hunting and we are trying to pack everything.
