On the first trading day of the week i.e. today, July 8, a decline is being seen in the stock market. Sensex is trading at 79,800 level with a fall of more than 100 points. There is also a decline of about 20 points in Nifty. It is trading at the level of 24,300.
During early trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 were seen declining and 12 were rising. Today there is a huge decline in banking and metal shares. At the same time, there is a rise in auto and power shares.
Mixed business for Asian markets
- Mixed business is being seen in Asian markets. Japan’s Nikkei is up 0.21%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading down 1.23%. At the same time, a decline of 0.54% is being seen in Shanghai Composite.
- The American market remained on the rise on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 67.87 (0.17%) points to close at 39,375. The NASDAQ rose 164.46 (0.90%) points to 18,352 and the S&P 500 index rose 30.17 (0.54%) points to 5,567.
There was flat business in the market on Friday
Flat trading was seen in the stock market on the last trading day of last week i.e. 5th July. The Sensex closed at 79,996 with a fall of 53 points. At the same time, there was a rise of 21 points in Nifty, it closed at the level of 24,323. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 saw a rise and 13 saw a fall.
