Sensex gained 200 points, Nifty gained 60 points. Sensex up 200 points, Nifty up 60 points: IT index up nearly 2% after TCS’s strong quarterly results

The stock market is witnessing a boom today i.e. on 12th July. Sensex is trading at the level of 80,100, up about 200 points.

At the same time, Nifty is also up by more than 60 points. It is trading at the level of 24,400. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 are rising and 9 are declining.

After the strong quarterly results of TCS, the IT index is up by about 2% today. TCS shares are trading above Rs 4030, up about 3%. Infosys is up about 1%. Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech are also up about half a percent.

Three big things related to the market:

  • TCS had released its first quarter FY25 results on Thursday. After strong results, today its shares are up by about 3%. Infosys shares have also risen by about 1%. The market is getting support from this.
  • On Thursday, domestic investors bought while foreign investors sold. According to NSE data, DIIs bought shares worth Rs 1,676.47 crore. During this period, FIIs sold shares worth Rs 1,137.01 crore.
  • US markets closed in decline on Thursday. The Nasdaq fell 1.95% to 18,283 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.08% to 39,753.75. The S&P 500 declined 0.88%.

TCS profits of ₹12,040 crore in the first quarter
The consolidated net profit of Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), India’s most valuable IT company, in the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2024-25 was Rs 12,040 crore. There has been an increase of 8.72% on annual basis.

In the same quarter a year ago, the company had made a net profit of Rs 11,074 crore. Talking about the earnings during this period, the total in the April-June quarter was Rs 63,575 crore. There has been an increase of 5.44% on annual basis.

TCS has also declared a dividend of Rs 10 per share to its shareholders. Companies give some part of the profits to their shareholders, it is called dividend. TCS shares closed 0.18% lower at Rs 3,902 yesterday.

American markets closed in decline
US markets closed in decline on Thursday. The Nasdaq fell 1.95% to 18,283.41, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.08% to 39,753.75. The S&P 500 also declined 0.88%. It closed at the level of 5,584.

FIIs sold, DIIs bought
On Thursday, Domestic Investors (DIIs) bought, while Foreign Investors (FIIs) sold. According to NSE’s provisional data, DIIs bought shares worth Rs 1,676.47 crore. During this period, FIIs sold shares worth Rs 1,137.01 crore.

The market was closed flat on Thursday
Flat trading was seen in the stock market on July 11. Sensex closed at 79,897 with a fall of 27 points. At the same time, Nifty also declined by 8 points, it closed at the level of 24,315. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 16 saw a rise and 14 saw a fall.
