Reliance Jio has discontinued two of its affordable recharge plans – Rs 395 and Rs 1559 – after increasing the tariff rates by 25%. In both these plans, extended validity was available with 5G network.
In the Rs 395 plan, Jio users got 6GB data and 84 days validity and in the Rs 1559 plan, Jio users got 24GB data and 336 days validity.
The increased recharge rates are being implemented from July 3, so Jio users could increase their validity at a cheaper price by recharging with both these plans. This could have reduced the company’s earnings.
