Manu Bhaker’s second bronze medal win in Paris Olympics is being celebrated in Chandigarh. She is a student of DAV College located in Sector 10, Chandigarh. From here she is studying in Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication.

Earlier, Manu Bhakar had taken admission in the college in 2022 to do Post Graduation in Public Administration, which is a 2 year course. He has won this medal in 10 meter air pistol mixed team event. His teammate Sarabjot Singh has also been a student of this college. Because of this the celebration has doubled. The college principal, staff and students are dancing on the drums.

First female player to win two medals

Manu Bhaker has become the first female player to win two medals in a single Olympics. Till now no female player has won two medals in one Olympics. Earlier, he had also won a bronze medal in 10 meter air pistol individual. This was the first medal for India of Paris Olympics 2024 and today India has also got its second medal in Manu Bhakar. Her college teachers told that Manu Bhakar’s favorite sport is 25 meter shooting. That game is still due to him. In this also she will get a medal for India.

5 shooters from college are taking part

DAV College Chandigarh is the only college in the country from where five shooters are participating in the Paris Olympics. These include shooters Vijay Veer Sidhu, Sarabjit Singh, Manu Bhakar, Arjun Babuta and Anjum Mudgal.

Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal in javelin throw in the Olympics, was also a student of this college. In such a situation, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the entire staff of the college and they hope that more students will bring glory to the country and this college.

Manu fired 14 shots in Tokyo Olympics

Manu Bhaker’s teachers say that Manu Bhaker’s pistol got damaged while playing in the Tokyo Olympics in the year 2021. Due to this she was not able to aim for 20 minutes. Even after the pistol was repaired, Manu was able to fire only 14 shots and was out of the final race.

She was so disappointed by not winning a medal in the Tokyo Olympics that after returning to the country, she decided to quit shooting, but she knows how to fight difficulties since her college days. The best thing about her is that she always tries to forget her past and move forward.
