Crowd of youth came for interview at the post of airport loader.
On Tuesday (July 16) in Mumbai, more than 25 thousand candidates reached for interview for 2,216 vacancies of airport loader. This created a stampede-like situation at Mumbai airport. Air India employees had to work hard to control the crowd.
Many photos and videos of this period have also surfaced, in which a huge crowd of youth coming for jobs is visible. Candidates are seen jostling with each other to reach the form counter. According to reports, the applicants had to wait for hours without food and water. In such a situation, the health of many started deteriorating.

Came for interview from 400 km away
Prathameshwar from Buldhana district told that he has reached here after traveling from a distance of 400 km to give an interview for the loader job. He said, I have come to apply for apprentice post. The salary for this is Rs 22.50. Prathameshwar further told that he is a second year BBA student. But if he gets a job, he will leave his studies. He also urged the government to increase employment opportunities.
Another candidate who came to Mumbai from Alwar, Rajasthan told that he has an M.Com degree. He said, ‘I am also preparing for a government job, someone told me that the salary is good here, so I have come for the interview.’
Airport loader gets a salary of 20-25 thousand
The employees recruited as loaders in the airport do the work of loading and unloading luggage in the plane as well as driving the baggage belt and ramp tractor. A plane requires at least 5 loaders to carry luggage, cargo and food supplies.
The salary of an airport loader is between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 per month. However, most of the loaders earn more than Rs 30 thousand by working overtime. Education qualification for the job of loader is basic while the candidate should be physically strong.
A week ago, thousands of applicants had arrived in Gujarat for the vacancy of 10 posts.
Earlier, around 1,800 candidates had appeared for only 10 posts in a private firm in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The crowd was so huge that the railing on the ramp of the entry gate of the office fell. After the video went viral, Congress had said that it has exposed BJP’s Gujarat model. The ruling party is implementing this model of unemployment in the entire country. In response, BJP MP Mansukh Vasava blamed the private firm for the incident.
