Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Mumbai won the toss and chose to bowl first at the home ground Wankhede Stadium. Lucknow scored 214 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai could score only 196 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.

1. Nehal Wadhera’s jumping catch
Nehal Wadhera took an excellent jumping catch in the 10th over. Piyush Chawla bowled the third ball of the over fuller length. Deepak Hooda played an inside out shot but the ball went in the direction of point. Here Vadhera jumped in the air and took an excellent catch. Hooda was out after scoring 11 runs in 9 balls.

2. Stoinis left in DRS
Marcus Stoinis, who came to bat at number 3 from Lucknow, was saved due to taking DRS. Arjun Tendulkar bowled an in-swinger on the third ball of the second over. The ball hit Stoinis’ pads, MI appealed for LBW and the umpire declared out.
Stoinis took a review, replays showed the ball missing the stumps. The field umpire changed his decision and Stoinis was given a life on the score of one run. Stoinis scored 28 runs on 22 balls.

3. Lucknow lost 3 wickets in 3 balls
Lucknow Supergiants’ score at one time was 178/3 but on this score the team lost 3 consecutive wickets. Nuwan Thushara sent Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan to the pavilion on the fifth and sixth balls of the 17th over. Piyush Chawla took the wicket of KL Rahul on the first ball of the 18th over.

4. Rain stopped the game
The game had to be stopped during the second innings due to rain. It started raining around 10 pm, during which Mumbai’s score was 33 runs without loss in 3.5 overs. 5. Life to Naman Dhir, umpire declared no-ball
Mumbai batsman Naman Dheer got a lease of life in the 18th over of MI’s innings. He was caught on the second ball of Naveen-ul-Haq’s over, Lucknow players started celebrating, but the umpires declared it a no ball. In such a situation, Dheer also got a free-hit.
Naman Dhir played an unbeaten inning of 62 runs.
6. Excellent fielding by Krunal Pandya, saved 6 runs
MI needed 34 runs in the last over. Naman Dheer hit a six on the first ball of Naveen-ul-Haq. After this, Naman again went for a six on the next ball. However, Krunal, while fielding brilliantly at long-off, jumped on the boundary and pushed the ball towards the ground again. He bowled the ball at the non-striker’s end so fast that Naman could complete only one run.
