Manu scored 28 in the eight women’s final. She lost to bronze medalist Veronika Major of Hungary in the shoot-off. On Thursday, he entered the finals after securing second place in the qualification by scoring a total of 590 points with 294 points in precision and 296 points in rapid.
22 year old Manu not only missed the medal but also missed out on creating a unique history. In fact, the golden opportunity of becoming the first Indian player to win three Olympic medals slipped away from Manu’s hands. He concluded his journey in Paris by winning two bronze medals. However, he still made a great record. She has become the first Indian athlete to win two medals in the same Olympics. She is the only Indian to do so after independence.
