Reliance Industry, the country’s largest company in terms of market capitalization, has made a consolidated net profit of Rs 15,138 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25. There has been a decline of 5.45% on annual basis. The company had made a profit of Rs 16,011 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
The company’s revenue in the April-June quarter stood at Rs 2,36,217 crore. In the same quarter a year ago, the company had generated a revenue of Rs 2,10,831 crore. There has been an increase of 12.04% on annual basis.
Reliance Industries shares rose 20.33% this year
Shares of Reliance Industries fell 1.78% today (July 19) and closed at Rs 3,116.59. The company’s shares have given a negative return of 1.86% in the last 5 days. It has given returns of 6.84% in last 1 month, 13.97% in 6 months and 9.68% in one year. If we talk about this year only i.e. from January 1 till now, Reliance shares have increased by 20.33%.
Shares of Reliance Industries, the parent company of Reliance Group, fell 1.78% today (July 19) and closed at Rs 3,116.59.
Jio’s profit increased by 12% to ₹5,445 crore
Reliance Jio Limited has registered a net profit of Rs 5,445 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25. There has been an increase of 12% on annual basis. In the same quarter a year ago (Q1FY-2024), the company had made a profit of Rs 4,863 crore.
In the April-June quarter, the company’s revenue increased by 10% year-on-year to Rs 26,478 crore. In the same quarter a year ago, the company had registered a net profit of Rs 24,042 crore. At the same time, JIO’s net profit and revenue have increased by 2%-2% as compared to the previous quarter (Q4FY-2024).
Net profit up 13% to ₹4,716 crore in Q4FY24
In the last quarter i.e. the fourth quarter (January-March) of the financial year 2023-24, the company’s net profit increased by 13% on an annual (YoY) basis to Rs 4,716 crore. The company had registered a net profit of Rs 4,173 crore in the same quarter a year ago. Jio’s income from value of services increased to Rs 27,539 crore in Q4FY24. In January-March 2023 it was Rs 24,602 crore.
Jio was launched on 6 September 2016
Reliance Industries entered the telecom sector for the first time by launching Reliance JIO in the market on 6 September 2016. Based on the number of customers, Jio is India’s largest provider of mobile telephone, broadband services and digital services.
It operates in all 22 logistics areas of India and its network reaches 99% of the country’s population. According to Reliance Industries owner Mukesh Ambani, the idea of launching Jio came from his daughter Isha Ambani.
