IPL Auction 2025 Player Retention Players
The mini auction for IPL 2024 took place in Dubai on December 2023.
BCCI can give permission to franchises to retain up to 5 players before the mega auction of the Indian Premier League. The board is considering at least 5 retentions by removing the option of Right to Match cards from the auction to be held later this year, so that the brand value of the teams remains intact. However, it is not clear how many Indians and how many foreigners could be among these 5 players.
The teams had discussed this with the board in a meeting last month. Most of the franchises were demanding to retain 5-6 players. It is being told that the board is going to listen to the franchisees. The league’s mega auction may take place later this year.(IPL Auction 2025 Player Retention Players)
