The shares of InterGlobe Aviation, the company that operates Indigo airline, have fallen by 4.22% today i.e. on June 11. This decline is being seen after the block deal of 83.7 lakh shares. The block deal has been done for Rs 3,689 crore at an average price of Rs 4,406.
A day ago, some media reports had claimed that InterGlobe Enterprises, the holding company of low cost airline IndiGo promoter Rahul Bhatia, is planning to sell 2% stake. Rahul Bhatia and his family held 37.75% stake in IndiGo.
Indigo shares gave 47% return this year
Indigo Airline shares have given more than 47% returns to investors this year. On January 1, the share price was Rs 2978, which has now increased to around Rs 4,384. Whereas Indigo has given a return of about 81% in one year.
Indigo airline’s fourth quarter profit increased by 106%
Indigo had released its fourth quarter results last month. The company’s profit in the fourth quarter of FY 2024 has increased by 106% on an annual basis to Rs 1894.8 crore. The company’s consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was ₹ 919.20 crore.
Consolidated revenue from operations of IndiGo has increased by 25.9% on an annual basis. Revenue from operations stood at ₹17,825.27 crore in Q4FY24. Revenue in the same quarter a year ago i.e. fourth quarter of FY23 was ₹14,160.6 crore.
Company becomes profitable in financial year 2024
IndiGo’s consolidated profit for the full financial year 2024 became ₹ 8,172 crore. The airline had suffered a loss of Rs 305 crore in FY 2023.
Revenue increased by 26% in fiscal year 2024
IndiGo’s consolidated revenue increased to ₹68,904 crore in FY2024. Revenue in FY 2023 was ₹54,446 crore. That means there has been an increase of 26.55% in revenue.
Indigo is India’s largest airline
IndiGo is India’s largest airline by market share. It was founded in 2006 by Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal. It operates more than 2000 flights daily.
Indigo flights operate on more than 80 domestic destinations and more than 30 international destinations. It connects 110+ destinations. The airline has a fleet of more than 320 aircraft. It has more than 50 crore customers.
