There was a dispute in the match between India and Qatar in Doha.

India’s hopes of reaching the FIFA World Cup 2026 are over. The Indian team is out of the World Cup qualifiers after a 2-1 defeat by Qatar.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is to be held in America, Mexico and Canada from June 11. Qualifiers are being played for the World Cup. On Tuesday, the match between India and Qatar was played at Jasim Bin Ahmed Stadium in Doha. In this match, India was leading from the beginning. However, due to poor refereeing, Qatar got the first lead and the team won the match 2–1. With this, India missed reaching the third round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Indian team got the lead in the first half
The Indian team took a 1-0 lead over Qatar by scoring a goal in the first half. In the 37th minute of the game, Brendan passed a pass to Lalianzuala Changte from the edge of the goal box. Changte slid in and scored to give India a 1-0 lead.

Qatar equalized the score due to bad refereeing
In the second half of the match, Qatar’s Yousuf Ayman played a head shot at the 75th minute. India’s wicketkeeper Gurpreet blocked the header and the ball went beyond the game line. However, no whistle was blown by the referee. After this, Qatar’s Al Hassan took the ball in and Ayman scored the goal. On this, the Indian players protested against the goal being scored after the ball went out of the game line. After watching the replays, the referee ruled in favor of Qatar and the score became 1-1.

Ahmed Al Rawi scored a goal to put the team ahead 2-1.
In the 85th minute of the match, Ahmed Al-Rawi scored the second goal for Qatar to give the team a 2-1 win. He made a brilliant kick from the edge of India’s goal box which goalkeeper Gurpreet could not stop. The Indian team could not score any goal in the second half. Meanwhile, in the second qualifier, Kuwait defeated Afghanistan 1-0 and made it to the third round.
