The government lawyer has demanded from the court that Ajay Hinduja and his wife Namrata should be sent to jail.
The Indian-origin billionaire Hinduja family has been accused of treating domestic staff cruelly. According to Bloomberg report, he got the domestic staff to work for 15 to 18 hours at a very low cost at his villa in Switzerland. The government lawyer has demanded a minimum punishment of one year for the culprits. Bloomberg reported that another government lawyer has alleged in the court that Hinduja used to spend more on his dogs than on his staff. It has been claimed in the report that during this time they had even confiscated the passports of the staff.
The report has claimed that the Hinduja family used to pay about Rs 18 thousand per month to its staff at ‘Lake Villa’ in Geneva, this money was given to them in Indian rupees. They were not even able to use this money there.
Staff were not allowed to leave the job
According to the report, the government lawyer claimed in the court that there are neither fixed working hours for the employees in the Hinduja family’s villa nor any fixed time for their weekly leave. These staff are also not allowed to leave the job. They are not allowed to leave the house without permission.

According to the report, the government lawyer has demanded from the court that Ajay Hinduja and his wife Namrata be sent to jail. The members of the Hinduja family who have been accused include Prakash Hinduja, Kamal Hinduja, Ajay Hinduja and his wife Namrata Hinduja.
Hinduja family has denied these allegations. He has said that neither was he involved in the hiring of these staff. Not only this, they did not even handle these staff. Therefore, these allegations of exploitation against him are wrong.

Along with this, the Hinduja family has claimed that the government lawyers have not told the entire truth of the case. He claimed that adequate food arrangements were made for the staff and they were also given houses to stay. Hinduji family said that the allegation of making the staff work for 18 hours is exaggerated.
The Hinduja family’s lawyer claimed in the court that many of their domestic staff have returned to work in Switzerland after going to India. If they had faced problems here then why would they have come to work here again.
The defense claimed that the government lawyer’s claims were misleading. He said staff are treated as per local rules. The defense counsel also claimed that not a single such staff can claim that they were hired by Ajay Hinduja.

Unique rule of Hinduja family
