In the 9th match of the Women’s World Cup, England defeated South Africa by 7 wickets. With this, England has reached the top of Group B. At the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, South Africa won the toss and chose to bat and scored 124 runs losing 6 wickets. Sophie Eccleston took 2 wickets for 15 runs.
Chasing the target, the England team played an unbeaten inning of 48 runs with Natalie Siver Brunt and opener Daniel Wyatt scoring 43 runs. Both of them made a partnership of 64 runs in 55 balls for the third wicket. Due to the match winning partnership, England won the match with 4 balls remaining.
