David Warner played his last international match against India in the T-20 World Cup.
David Warner’s name will not be considered in the Australian team for the ODI Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in 2025.
Warner had said in a social media post that despite his retirement from international cricket, if Cricket Australia wants, he can play in the ODI Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
Australia’s national selector George Bailey said that our understanding is that David has retired and the way he has had a career in all three formats should be appreciated. Our strategy is that he will not be in Pakistan.
Warner retired after T20 World Cup
Warner had announced his retirement from international cricket after the T20 World Cup. He had said in January that after winning the ODI World Cup last year, his career in this format had ended. Warner had already announced his retirement from Test cricket also.
