7th Pay Commission: Central employees are waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for the second half of the year i.e. from July to December. Meanwhile, some states are increasing dearness allowance for different periods. In this series, Gujarat has announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance. This allowance will come along with the next three months’ salary in the form of arrears.
Nearly 10 lakh employees benefited
This decision will be effective from January 1, 2024 for those employees who are covered under the Seventh Pay Commission. This will benefit 4.71 lakh Karmayogis and about 4.73 lakh retired employees or pensioners of Gujarat. Officials said that the state government will disburse a total of Rs 1129.51 crore to settle these dues of the employees.
Arrears will be given in three installments
The arrears of dearness allowance for six months from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024 will be paid in three installments along with salary. According to the information, arrears between January 2024 and February 2024 will be included in the salary of July, arrears of March and April in the salary of August and arrears of May and June will be included in the salary of September.

When will gifts be given to central employees?
Central employees are waiting for the increase in half yearly allowance from July to December. It is announced by September or October but it becomes effective from the month of July itself. If you understand in simple language, the allowance of central employees will increase from July 1, but its official announcement will be made in September or October. Let us tell you that at present the allowance of central employees is 50 percent.
