However, this gift is for employees falling within the scope of 6th Pay Commission.

Central employees are waiting
Meanwhile, central employees are awaiting a hike in dearness allowance for the second half as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. After the formation of Narendra Modi government, now all kinds of calculations are being done regarding allowances.
In March, the Union Cabinet had approved the release of an additional installment of dearness allowance to central government employees and dearness relief to pensioners to compensate for inflation. Under this, the rate of 46 percent of basic salary/pension was increased by 4 percent. After this increase, the employees’ allowance increased to 50 percent. This benefited 49.18 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners. Now once again a 4 percent increase is expected, then the allowance will increase to 54 percent.
