1. Rupee hits record all-time low: It fell 17 paise against the dollar and closed at 83.62, this will make buying foreign goods expensive.
Rupee has reached its record all time low. On Thursday (June 20), it saw a fall of 17 paise against the US dollar and closed at an all-time low of Rs 83.62 per dollar. Earlier on April 16, 2024, the rupee had closed at its lowest level of 83.61 against the dollar.
The rupee opened at 83.43 in the exchange market on Thursday and touched the day’s high of 83.42. After this, during the session the rupee also hit an all-time low of 83.68 against the dollar and finally it closed at 83.61 per dollar with a fall of 17 paise compared to the previous close. On Wednesday, the rupee had closed at 83.44 against the US dollar with a fall of one paise.

2. Modi government can increase the limit of income tax exemption: Expected tax exemption on income up to ₹ 10 lakh, changes in section 80C also possible
Narendra Modi government may present the full budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the third week of July. In such a situation, middle class and taxpayers are expected to get relief. Users troubled by promotional calls and text messages may soon get relief. The Consumer Affairs Ministry has issued guidelines for this. The government has sought opinion from the people on this. Users can send their opinion for this to the government till 21st July.
The central government has been planning for a long time to deal with this problem. According to reports, the government is also preparing to impose fine on unwanted promotional calls or messages coming from numbers or companies which have not been registered by the users.

4. 8.87 lakh new members added to EPFO in April-2024: 55.50% of these are in the age group of 18 to 25 years, 2.49 lakh new female members.
8.87 lakh new members have been registered in Employee Provident Fund Organization i.e. EPFO in April this year. This information has been received from the provisional payroll data of EPFO. According to the data, among the new members, the age group of 18 to 25 years has the highest number of members, who are 55.50% of the total new members added in April 2024.
This is in line with earlier trends, which show that the majority of members joining the organized workforce are young. Mainly these are the people who have got job for the first time. The data showed that EPFO has added 18.92 lakh net members in the month of April 2024. This growth in April is the highest since the first payroll data was published in April 2018.

5. Vodafone Group sold 18% stake in Indus Towers: Raised funds of ₹15,037 crore, with this the company will repay its debt.
Vodafone Group has sold its 18% stake in mobile tower operator Indus Towers through a block deal. By selling it, the group raised funds of 1.8 billion dollars i.e. Rs 15,037 crore. The company will use this fund to repay the loan taken from banks.
Vodafone Group said it has sold 48.5 crore shares of Indus Towers at a price of Rs 310-341 per share. Vodafone-Idea is the third largest telecom operator in the country in terms of customers. Bharti Airtel is at second place and Reliance Jio is at first place.

6. SEBI approves Ola Electric to launch IPO: Company will raise ₹5,500 crore; Amcure Pharmaceuticals also got permission
Ola Electric has received approval from the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Ola is India’s largest electric two wheeler manufacturer. The Bengaluru-based company had filed the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) for the IPO with SEBI on December 22, 2023.
Along with this, SEBI has also given approval to Emcure Pharmaceuticals to launch IPO. The company had filed DRHP only last week to bring IPO. Emcure Pharmaceuticals develops, produces and markets products related to the medical field.
