- Bharti Airtel Q4 Results: Bharti Airtel Profit Slides 31% YoY To Rs 2,072 Crore; Dividend declared at Rs 8 share

Telecom company Bharti Airtel’s profit in the fourth quarter (January-March) of FY 2024 declined by 31.08% on an annual basis (YoY) to ₹ 2,071 crore. The company’s consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was ₹3,005 crore. Airtel has released its fourth quarter and annual results today i.e. on May 14.
The company has also announced a final dividend of ₹ 8 per share for the financial year 2024. Companies give some part of the profits to their shareholders, it is called dividend. Ahead of the results, Airtel shares closed 0.086% higher at ₹1,287.05. It has given 61.48% returns in the last one year.
4.4% increase in income on annual basis
Consolidated revenue from operations of the company has increased by 4.4% on an annual basis. Revenue in Q4FY24 stood at ₹37,599 crore. Revenue in the same quarter a year ago i.e. fourth quarter of FY23 was ₹36,009 crore.
Profit decreased by 10.52% in financial year 2024
The telecom company’s consolidated profit for the full financial year 2024 declined by 10.52% to ₹7,467 crore. The profit in FY 2023 was ₹8,345 crore.
Company’s revenue to increase by 8% in fiscal year 2024
The company’s revenue from operations increased to ₹1.50 lakh crore in FY 2024. Revenue in FY 2023 was ₹1.39 lakh crore. That means revenue has increased by 8%.
Consolidated profit means performance of the entire group
The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. Standalone shows the financial performance of only one unit. Whereas, in the consolidated financial report, the entire company is reported.
Bharti Airtel was started in 1995
The Government of India first started distributing licenses for mobile services in 1992. Company founder Sunil Mittal understood this opportunity and in collaboration with French company Vivendi acquired licenses for Delhi and surrounding areas. In 1995, Mittal formed Bharti Cellular Limited to offer cellular services and started operating under the Airtel brand.
