Immediately she says with full confidence, “Aman’s father’s dream was that someone in the house should do wrestling and win a medal for India. Aman had said that he will definitely fulfill his father’s dream.” Now at the age of 21, he brought glory to the country by winning the Olympic medal. Aman won bronze medal in 57 kg category.

Aman considers Ravi Dahiya as his inspiration. Aman also qualified for the Olympics by defeating Dahiya. Dahiya had won the silver medal for India in the Tokyo Olympics. Taking inspiration from Dahiya, Aman hung the photo of the gold medal in his room. He has written in his room, ‘If it were easy, everyone would do it.’

Now Aman has achieved a feat which no Indian wrestler could do in this Olympics. Aman won the country its first wrestling medal in the Paris Olympics. Aman won the medal by defeating Darlin Tui Cruz of Puerto Rico 13-5. Aman made it to the semi-finals by winning the first two matches, but had to play the bronze medal match after losing to the Japanese wrestler. Japanese wrestler won the gold medal.

Mother suffered a heart attack, father died due to illness.
After losing their parents, Aman and his sister moved to their aunt’s house. Aunty raised both of them like her own children. Sehrawat’s aunt Suman says, ‘Aman’s mother Kamlesh was my younger sister. He had a heart attack. Due to the grief of Kamlesh’s departure, Aman’s father also started falling ill and after 6 months he handed over Aman and his sister to us and went away.
To avoid being sad after mother’s departure, father sent him to Chhatrasal Stadium
Aman was interested in sports since childhood. He used to practice running and wrestling in the akhara with his aunt’s son Deepak. Deepak says, “Uncle wanted someone in the house to do wrestling and win medals for the country. Before Aman, he had sent uncle and uncle’s son to do wrestling, but both of them could not survive.”
The coach kept in the room next to him
Aman lives in Chhatrasal Stadium. Coach Lalit’s room is also next door. Lalit says, “I kept him in the room next to mine, so that he could be taken care of. He says that we rarely let him talk at home. We have also told the family members to come here less and Talk, so that he misses home and parents less and can focus on sports.”
Lalit says that after winning the medal in the Asian Games, he was given a staff room. It also has a kitchen, so that if he wants to cook something separately, he can do it.
