Mark Wood ruled out of Test series against Sri Lanka.
England team’s fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury. Leicestershire’s young fast bowler Josh Hull has been included in the team in place of Wood for the remaining two matches of the series.
In the first match of the series played at Manchester ground, the England team defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series. The second match of the series will be played at Lord’s from August 29.
Wood out due to muscle strain
Mark Wood was injured and left the field on the third day of the first Test of the series. After this he did not come to bowl again in the match. He has suffered a thigh injury in his right leg. Therefore he is out of the test series.

England takes 1-0 lead in the series
The England team has taken a 1-0 lead in the ongoing 3-match Test series against Sri Lanka. In the first innings of this match, Sri Lanka had scored 236 runs thanks to the half-centuries of captain Dhananjay de Silva (74 runs) and Milan Ratnayake (72 runs). In response, the English team scored 358 runs on the basis of the century inning of Jamie Smith (111 runs) and took a lead of 122 runs in the first innings.
After falling behind in the first innings, the Sri Lankan team, which came to bat in the second innings, scored 326 runs on the board thanks to the century innings of Kamindu Mendis (113 runs) and set a target of 205 runs for England in the fourth innings.
