4. Mutual fund AUM crosses ₹ 61.16 lakh crore for the first time: Investment in equity mutual funds increased by 17%, highest investment in sectoral funds of ₹ 22,351.69 crore.
The total asset under management (AUM) of mutual funds has reached ₹61.16 lakh crore for the first time in June 2024, which was ₹58.91 lakh crore in May. According to the data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), ₹ 21,262 crore has been invested in mutual funds through SIP in the month of June.
Earlier in May, ₹20,904 crore was invested through SIP. With this, investment in equity mutual funds has increased by 17% in June. Last month, equity mutual funds saw an inflow of ₹40,608 crore. Whereas, there was an investment of ₹34,697 crore in May. In the equity category, the maximum amount of money was invested in the sectoral/thematic category at ₹22,353 crore.
