A total of 18 lakh 95 thousand 552 vehicles have been sold across the country in June 2024. There is an increase of 0.73% on annual basis. Last year in June, 18 lakh 81 thousand 883 vehicles were sold. However, there has been a decline of 9.29% in sales on monthly basis.
A month ago, in May 2024, a total of 20 lakh 89 thousand 603 vehicles were sold. This information has been revealed in the Retail Automobile Sales Report of the Federation of Automobile Associations (FADA). According to the report, Maruti Suzuki has sold the maximum 1 lakh 13 thousand 575 vehicles in June.
In the month of June last year, the company had sold 1 lakh 22 thousand 801 vehicles. Hyundai Motor is at second place in this list. The company has sold 38 thousand 46 vehicles in June. In June 2023, Hyundai had sold 44 thousand 104 vehicles.
Hero sold maximum 3.97 lakh two-wheelers
Hero MotoCorp has sold the maximum 3.97 lakh vehicles in the two-wheeler category in June. The share of this company in total sales in June was 28.86%. A year ago in June 2023, the company had sold 4.27 lakh vehicles with 32.50% market share. At the second position, Honda has sold 3.51 lakh two-wheelers. Its market share in total sales has been 25.54%. A year ago in June, the company had sold 2.83 lakh vehicles.
Maruti sold maximum 1.13 lakh cars
Maruti Suzuki India has sold the maximum number of 1.13 lakh cars in June 2024. During this period, the company’s market share in the passenger vehicles category has been 40.34%. A year ago, in June 2023, the company had sold 1.23 lakh cars, when its market share was 40.66%. In this list, Hyundai Motor is at second place with 38,046 sales and Tata Motors is at third place with 37,242 sales.
2.38 crore vehicles were sold in 2023
In the calendar year 2023, about 2.38 crore vehicles were sold in different categories. It saw a growth of 11.14% on annual basis. A year ago i.e. in 2022, 2.15 crore vehicles were sold. In total vehicle sales, the maximum number of two-wheelers was sold at Rs 1.71 crore. There was an annual growth of 9.45%.
