The new month i.e. July has brought with it many changes. A 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become cheaper by Rs 31 from today. Now you will not be able to make credit card payments of 26 banks through fintech companies like PhonePe, Cred, BillDesk.
Apart from this, if the SIM card is stolen or damaged, now you will have to wait for 7 days to get a new SIM. Earlier it was available immediately. Hero MotoCorp vehicles also became expensive from today. The company has increased the prices of some selected vehicles by Rs 1,500.
We are telling you about 7 such changes taking place in the month of July…
1. Commercial gas cylinder prices reduced by Rs 31
From today, a 19 kg commercial cylinder has become cheaper by Rs 31. The price in Delhi has now reduced by Rs 30 to Rs 1646. Earlier it was available for Rs 1676. This cylinder is now available in Kolkata for Rs 1756, earlier its price was Rs 1787.
In Mumbai, the cylinder price has reduced by Rs 31 from Rs 1629 to Rs 1598. Cylinder is available for Rs 1809.50 in Chennai. However, there is no change in the price of 14.2 KG domestic gas cylinder. It is available for ₹ 803 in Delhi and ₹ 802.50 in Mumbai.
2. Up to Rs 1,500 from today Hero cars became expensive
Hero MotoCorp vehicles will become expensive from today. The company has announced to increase the ex-showroom prices of some selected vehicles by Rs 1,500. Hero MotoCorp said that this decision has been taken due to increase in commodity prices.
Earlier, on June 3, 2023, the company had increased the ex-showroom price of some models of scooters and bikes by about 1.5%. In the last financial year i.e. 2023-24 (FY24), the company had sold the maximum of 53.95 lakh vehicles.
3. Tata Motors vehicles also costlier by 2%
Today Tata Motors vehicles have also become expensive by 2%. The increase varies according to different models and variants. The company said that this decision has been taken due to increase in costs. Tata had given this information in its exchange filing on June 19.
4. Vodafone, Jio and Airtel recharge will be expensive
Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have announced to make their recharge plans expensive. Jio, Airtel plans will become expensive from July 3, while Vodafone’s new plans will be applicable from July 4. Jio has increased the price of its basic plan from Rs 155 to Rs 189.
Similarly, Airtel’s cheapest plan of Rs 179 will be available for Rs 199. It offers 28 days validity, unlimited calling and 2 GB data. Whereas the plan of Rs 265 will be available for Rs 299. At the same time, the cheapest plan of Rs 179 for VI will be available for Rs 199.
5. If SIM is stolen, new SIM will be available in 7 days
The government has changed the rules related to Mobile Number Portability (MNP) and SIM swap. If your SIM card is stolen or damaged, you will now have to wait for a while to get a new SIM. Earlier, after the SIM card was stolen or damaged, you used to get the SIM card immediately from the store. But now in this case its locking period has been extended.
Now users will have to wait for 7 days. Only after this the users will get a new SIM card. According to the new rule, people who have recently swapped their SIM cards will not be able to port their mobile number. Customers will be able to do this work after 7 days. That means after the change in MNP rules, you will get a new SIM card only after the next seven days.
6. You will not be able to make credit card payment through PhonePe and Credit.
You will not be able to make credit card payments of 26 banks through fintech companies like PhonePe, Cred, BillDesk. This is because, after June 30, all credit card payments will be processed through Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), a centralized billing network. For this, banks will have to enable BBPS compliance.
Till now only 8 out of 34 banks have enabled BBPS compliance. 26 banks have not enabled it. These 26 banks also include HDFC, ICICI and Axis, which have issued more than 5 crore credit cards. These include 2 crore credit cards of HDFC Bank, 1.7 crore credit cards of ICICI Bank and 1.4 crore credit cards of Axis Bank.
7. Accounts with no transactions for three years will be closed
If your bank account is in Punjab National Bank and you have not done any transaction in it for more than 3 years, then that account will be closed. The company had asked such account holders to do KYC by June 30.
The bank had said that notice is given to all such account holders who have not operated their account for more than 3 years till April 30, 2024 and have no balance in their account. PNB said that to ensure that these accounts are not misused, the bank has decided to close such accounts.
No change in prices of petrol and diesel
There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel even today i.e. on 1st June. At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 94.72 per liter while diesel is being sold at Rs 87.62 per litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre.
