A Mumbai man received a call from the customer care of e-commerce website Flipkart for an order he had placed six years ago. Ahsan Kharbai said this while sharing a screenshot on social media platform X.
The screenshot shows an order dated May 16, 2018, in which the customer had ordered Sparks slippers. The next day on 19th May 2018, the order is shipped and its status is shown as ‘Out for Delivery’ i.e. the order is out for delivery. At the same time, the expected date of order delivery is visible in the screenshot as 20th May 2018.
There is always a message in the app that the order will arrive today.
According to the report of Hindustan Times (HT), Ahsan told that the slippers ordered 6 years ago never arrived, but the message always came in the app that the order would arrive today. Till today the message of ‘come today’ comes. Ahsan said that he was surprised when he called for a 6-year old order.
Yesterday i.e. on June 26, Ahsan Kharbai told HT that recently I clicked on this order to see what is visible? And then yesterday I got a call from Flipkart asking what problem I was facing with that order. The customer service representative told me that I did not receive a call from the logistics team? And he ended the call by saying – Sir, we are very sorry about this.
The order was cash-on delivery
Ahsan said that the order was in cash-on delivery, so did not do anything further on the matter. He claimed that there is no option to cancel the order in the app. Ahsan says I just want Flipkart to close that order, because whenever I open my Flipkart orders section, this is the first order I see.
Another X user said – order is out for delivery since 2015
A user named Krish Rao, while replying to Ahsan Kharbai’s post, said that his order is also showing as out for delivery since 2015. At the same time, people are re-posting and liking Ahsan Kharbai’s post. His post has been viewed more than 1.3 lakh times.
