3. Petrol-diesel became costlier by Rs 3 in Karnataka: State government increased sales tax, petrol in Bengaluru ₹ 99.84 liter and diesel ₹ 85.93 liter
Karnataka state government has increased the prices of petrol and diesel. The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs 3 per liter and diesel by Rs 3.02. This increase has happened after the amendment in ‘Karnataka Sales Tax’ (KST).
According to the notification of the state government, KST on petrol has been increased from 25.92% to 29.84% and on diesel from 14.3% to 18.4%. After this increase, petrol in Bengaluru has become Rs 99.84 per liter and diesel Rs 85.93 per liter.

4. Hyundai-India preparing to launch country’s biggest IPO: Draft papers submitted to SEBI, company wants to raise ₹25,000 crore through IPO
Hyundai Motor India, the Indian unit of South Korean company Hyundai, is preparing to launch the biggest ever initial public offering i.e. IPO in the Indian market. The company has filed the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on June 15 (Saturday) to launch the IPO.
Hyundai Motor India wants to raise $2.5-3 billion i.e. about Rs 25,000 crore by selling up to 17.5% of its stake through IPO. The company is selling 142 million i.e. 14.2 crore shares out of its total 812 million (81.2 crore) shares in this IPO.

5. Government reduces windfall tax on crude oil: From ₹ 5,200 to ₹ 3,250 per metric ton, exemption on diesel, petrol and ATF remains intact.
The government has reduced the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED), i.e. windfall tax, on the export of domestically produced crude oil. In its regular review, the government has reduced the windfall tax from Rs 5,200 per metric tonne to Rs 3,250 per metric tonne. This change has come into effect from June 15. The government reviews windfall tax every 15 days.
Due to this, the government had reduced the windfall tax on May 16 and May 1. On May 16, the government had reduced the windfall tax from Rs 8,400 per metric tonne to Rs 5,700 per metric tonne. At the same time, on May 1, windfall tax was reduced from Rs 9,600 per metric ton to Rs 8,400 per metric ton.
