1. Stock market at all time high: Sensex touched 75,499 and Nifty touched 22,993, bank and auto shares rose.
The stock market reached an all-time high on Thursday (May 23). Sensex has made a high of 75,499. Earlier, the high of Sensex was 75,124 which it made on April 9. Whereas Nifty touched the level of 22,993. Earlier the high of Nifty was 22,794.
However, the market came down slightly from the upper levels and the Sensex closed at 75,418 with a gain of 1196 points. Nifty also rose 354 points. It closed at the level of 22,952. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, only 3 stocks declined and 27 showed a rise.

2. Gold price fell by Rs 1289: It came to Rs 72,791, silver also became cheaper by Rs 3,476.
There was a big fall in the prices of gold and silver on Thursday (May 23). According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), 10 grams of 24 carat gold has become cheaper by Rs 1289 to Rs 72,791.
Talking about silver, today one kg of silver is being sold cheaper by Rs 3,476 and is being sold at Rs 89,410 per kg. Earlier on May 23, silver was at Rs 92,886 per kg.

3. ZEE asked for ₹750 crore termination fee from Sony: Sony-G merger deal was canceled on January 22, merger was approved in August 2023
Zee Entertainment has asked Sony Group’s Culver Max Entertainment and Bangla Entertainment Private Limited (BEPL) to pay $90 million as part of the termination fee. Zee Entertainment has given this information in its stock exchange filing on Thursday (May 23).
“Sony Group’s India media unit Culver Max and BEPL have failed to comply with their obligations under the Merger Corporation Agreement (MCA),” Zee Entertainment said in the filing. Therefore, the Company has terminated the MCA and asked Culver Max and BEPL to pay, as per the MCA, a termination fee i.e. an aggregate amount equal to $90 million (Rs 750 crore).’

4. Air India increased the salary of pilots by ₹ 15,000: The airline also announced an annual performance bonus of up to ₹ 1.8 lakh.
Tata Group’s Air India on May 23 announced a salary hike of up to Rs 15,000 and annual performance bonus of up to Rs 1.8 lakh for pilots from April 1. The company has announced this by issuing an official statement.
According to the company statement, the airline has increased salaries from First Officer to Senior Commander by Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 in fixed pay per month. There has been no salary hike for junior first officers this appraisal season.

5. Indigo Airline’s profit increased by 106% in the fourth quarter: It was Rs 1894 crore, the share gave 94% return in one year.
Low-cost airline IndiGo’s profit in the fourth quarter (January-March) of FY 2024 has increased by 106% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1894.8 crore. The company’s consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was ₹ 919.20 crore.
Consolidated revenue from operations of IndiGo has increased by 25.9% on an annual basis. Revenue from operations stood at ₹17,825.27 crore in Q4FY24. Revenue in the same quarter a year ago i.e. fourth quarter of FY23 was ₹14,160.6 crore.

7. Poco F6 smartphone launched in global markets including India: The phone will operate with hand gestures without touching the screen, price starts from ₹ 29,999
Chinese tech company Xiaomi’s Indian sub-brand Poco has launched Poco F6 series in the global market including India. This series includes Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro smartphones. Both the smartphones are available for sale in the global market. The sale of Poco F6 will be started in the Indian market from May 29, whereas information about selling Poco F6 Pro in India has not been given.
Poco F6 has been introduced in India with a special smart sensing AON. With this, the smartphone can be operated with hand gestures. Apart from this, features like smart lock detection, smart AOD and smart rotating screen have been provided.
