Now the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be taken to stop spam calls on mobile phones. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is preparing to launch a big campaign against spam calls. Following TRAI’s instructions, Vodafone has started a pilot project named Sandbox. Preparations are underway to launch it across the country soon.
Every other smartphone user is troubled by unknown numbers and spam callers. Many times the phone starts ringing while driving or in an important meeting and on attending the call it is found out that the caller is spam. Now such unwanted calls will be automatically blocked.
TRAI had given an option of Do Not Disturb (DND), but despite starting this service, spam calls could not be stopped. An official order can also be issued to stop spam calls through AI.
This is how it will be stopped
TRAI has taken the help of AI filters to prevent spam calls. With its help, network service provider companies will block such calls on the network itself, so that spam calls will not come on the user’s phone. For this, all companies use a common platform. Companies will register the numbers that make such calls on this platform. In the new technology, promotional calls to 10 digit phone numbers will also be banned.
Possibility of reduction up to 90%
The trial run of this project started by TRAI has been successful, despite this, complaints of spam calls may be received in the initial days. Experts say that this technology is likely to reduce spam calls by about 90%.
These people get more calls
Some people contact through their website or email for credit card, personal loan, car or any other kind of information, but they do not logout. Such people receive more spam calls. The AI will block spam calls from the phones of people who have never sought such information through the website before.
New series of numbers will be issued for essential services
Essential services such as banks, Aadhaar and phones of other government or private departments will reach people as new series of numbers will be issued for these services. This means that when a call is received from a particular series of numbers, the user will also understand whether the phone is necessary for them or not. For a long time, users have been demanding such rules from the government.
