Suddenly the plane caught fire at Chennai
A major accident was averted at Chennai International Airport on Tuesday night when a Dubai-bound Emirates flight suddenly caught fire. In the viral video on social media, it is clearly visible that smoke is rising from the plane. It is being told that this accident happened when the flight was being filled with fuel before take off.
In the video shot by the ground staff, it is seen that a cloud of white smoke is rising from the rear of the plane. The airport staff was trying to extinguish the fire with great care. In the video, firefighters are seen pouring water on the rear part of the plane to extinguish the fire.
After this incident, Emirates issued a statement that flight EK547 was delayed due to a technical fault. Emirates said, “Flight EK547 from Chennai to Dubai was delayed due to a technical snag on 24 September 2024. Following engineering checks, the flight was cleared to proceed to Dubai. Emirates apologizes for the inconvenience caused to its passengers and The safety of our passengers and crew remains paramount.”
A lot of anger was seen among the passengers after this incident. A passenger named Satish wrote on Twitter, “We were removed from the plane after boarding and kept standing outside for 50 minutes without any reason.” He also told that the flight was delayed by 2.5 hours.
